University of Washington’s Kasie
June 30, 2008

I am a senior at University of Washington majoring in Communication. I was born and raised in Seattle and went to a private, Catholic, all girls high school. Throughout high school I worked in summer camps and lived the real life version of “Wet Hot American Summer”. The summer craziness made me realize that I needed to break away from small schools for college, so I ended up at the UW. I was originally supposed to stay only for freshman while I decided on where I really wanted to go to school, in Paris or in the United States. Once I was started school though, I absolutely loved the UW and knew I wouldn’t be able to leave! My passions in life are dance, which I have been doing in some form or another for my entire life, cheerleading, and, of course, the Washington Huskies. I am one of the biggest Husky fans out there and live for the football season (and we WILL finally have a good season!). I love to travel and spent the summer after high school graduation traveling through France with family and friends. I went back to Paris and Nice last summer on my own and had so much fun meeting new people and experiencing the culture on my terms. Next up on my travel schedule is London in October for the San Diego Chargers vs. New Orleans Saints game (Go Chargers!).
I submitted my pictures for consideration for the Tempe12 calendar at the very last minute and never thought that such an amazing opportunity present itself to me. I am so honored and excited to have been chosen to represent the University of Washington and promise to make my Huskies proud! This will be my first trip to Vegas and I couldn’t ask for a more perfect week. I can’t wait to shoot in The Palms and to meet all of the other girls! I know we will have an incredible time and get some great shots! Whatever happens in Vegas…
Meet UCLA’s Finest: Rachel
June 30, 2008

Hi my name is Rachel and I grew up in Sacramento, California with my mom, dad, and little brother who is now a freshman in high school. Growing up, I was a total tomboy and was really into sports. I earned a black belt in Bushido, played softball, golf, and eventually dedicated my time to soccer, playing competitively until finishing high school. I have a big Italian family in Sacramento and while growing up we always had huge family parties. In middle school and high school, I was very dedicated to school and spent a lot of my extra time participating in student leadership and community service. I am now at my dream school, UCLA. I am double majoring in Political Science and Communication and plan to attend law school after I graduate!
When I first got the call from Tempe12, I couldn’t have been more thrown off guard! I think they probably doubted my intelligence because I was so surprised that I could barely carry on a conversation. I had originally been in email correspondence with David from Tempe12, but honestly thought it was a big joke! Luckily though, I didn’t throw my chances out the window and ended up getting a call asking me to do the calendar while I was at work. I was shaking for the entire morning, and was too scared to tell anybody about it because I still didn’t think it was for real, and didn’t want to jinx it. I remember thinking, “I need to get to the gym!” David and everyone from the Tempe12 were so encouraging, and continually made me more excited about being part of this year’s calendar (not to mention the fact that the photographer is David Rams!), and I can’t wait for the year ahead!
ASU’s own Courtney
June 27, 2008

I grew up in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona and love it. Now I go to ASU (go Devils) where I am studying BIS: Dance and Business. I have been dancing since I was three years old and it is my absolute passion. It would be my dream to have a job as a professional dancer and one day I want to open my own studio. I am also fascinated with acting and am looking forward to getting back into it. I’d say I’m out going, friendly, extremely competitive, and basically just like to have a good time. I love doing random things and meeting new people!
The first time I heard of Tempe 12 was back in high school. I kind of kept it in the back of my mind, but never really wanted to apply for it seeing as how about 10 million other people did. Then, David asked me if I would be interested in being a Tempe 12 promo girl and I was like sure why not. I signed up to do the Fight Night promo and when I got home David asked me if I would be interested in being in the calendar. Needless to say, when he called me and told me I was going to be in it, I was speechless. I had actually just bought a sandwich and was so excited I couldn’t eat it.
Sarah S from Cal
June 27, 2008

My name is Sarah and I was born and raised in the bay area, California. I can definitely say my love for the bay area drew me to UC Berkeley. The college experience has been truly great. Okay, more like amazing. I am blessed to have had tremendous opportunities in my life thus far. I believe in extremes. The words mediocre and average don’t fly with me. Go big or go home! Most importantly I live everyday like it’s my birthday. You just got to! Go bears!
I have to say there are certain things that are once in a lifetime experiences. The combination of college, beauty, and philanthropy is definitely something I am always excited to take part in! Tempe 12, are you kidding?! So fun! I can’t wait to meet all of the girls and the guy who makes it all happen, David! Viva las vegas!
Kate D. from WSU
June 25, 2008

Hi my name is Kate and I am from Bremerton, Washington. I am currently a sophomore at
Washington State University. The first semester of my college career I spent at Arizona State University.
I then transferred to WSU where I’m majoring in Apparel Merchandising Design and Textiles. I want to become a buyer, personal shopper, and someday a designer. Besides shopping, I love to be in the sun, hangout with my friends, family, boyfriend, and travel. I’m outgoing, fun-loving, and overall an energetic person.
I first found out about the Tempe12 calendar when I attended ASU. All of my friends had one hanging in their room, but didn’t know much about it. After speaking to some girls that have been worked with them and learning more about it, I realized what a fun and exciting opportunity it would be. Now that I’ve been selected to represent WSU in this years Tempe12 calendar, I’m totally stoked for the experience and to meet all the girls who’ve been chosen. ![]()

Oregan State’s Good Charlotte
June 19, 2008

Hi everyone! My name is Charlotte and I am from Portland, OR. I’m currently a sophomore at Oregon State University (Go Beavers!). I’m majoring in New Media Communications and thinking about adding Computer Science as a minor. I am definitely a home-body and would usually pick to stay home and watch a movie with friends rather than go out and party all night (although, I definitely know how to have fun!). I can be pretty shy when you first meet me, but once you get to know me you will learn that I am a dork and totally nerdy… like, literally nerdy. I actually taught myself how to type fluent HTML and CSS when I was in 8th grade. Wow, that’s embarrassing! I love to travel. My dream vacation would be Jamaica or Fiji. I was lucky enough to grow up in a bilingual household and had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries. Visiting extremely impoverished areas in eastern Asia has definitely been the most eye-opening experience of my life. It has taught me to truly be grateful for what I have and appreciate the fact that I have a roof over my head, food on the table, let alone having the chance to receive a college education. I try to never take anything for granted.
It was truly an honor to be chosen to be in next year’s Tempe12 Calendar. I was in shock when I got the phone call with the good news, and I even kept it a secret from all of my friends for a week because I was so nervous! I’m still nervous now, but that feeling is slowly being taken over by excitement! This definitely feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I cannot wait to meet all the girls and get involved with all of the awesome sponsors this year! I feel lucky to have been given this great opportunity. Plus, it will be nice to get away from final exams and homework for a few days and have some fun in the sun!
Say hello to the Pac-10’s Ariana from ASU
June 18, 2008

When I was first asked if I was interested being in the calendar I was hesitant because I knew there are SOOOO many pretty girls at ASU, so I didn’t really think I had a chance in actually representing ASU for the calendar. But after talking to my encouraging best friends I decided to go in to the office so they could take a test shot. Of course when I got the message my friends and I just got done discussing that we were getting philly cheese steaks for dinner! haha So the next day I went to the office and David took my picture I was so nervous! He told me that they should be done picking girls by the end of the week so I assumed that was Saturday. Well Saturday rolls around and no call, so I told my friends I didn’t get it : (….On Monday I was at work and I had missed a call from an unfamiliar number, and so after listening to the voicemail I just heard “it’s David Freedman with Tempe12″ so I started to get all excited. Then later when I called back he told me that the shoot was in Vegas at the Palms and all the other details! I was in shock at work, and my boss was looking at me like what’s going on? My face was beat red (idk why?? haha)…I was so excited to actually have the opportunity to represent ASU because I never thought that I would actually be the girl from ASU. After telling my parents I am now referred to as “the calendar girl” LOL… After all of this I got the congrats e-mail with some more information along with make sure your eating healthy and working out. I was so nervous because I hate working out and eating healthy and I knew that I would have to for the next month!! Preparing for this calendar has actually helped improve my self discipline and is motivating me to get to the gym!!! I am sooo excited for the shoot especially because of the great photographer and it’s in Vegas!!!! It’s going to be soo0o0 much fun working with Tempe12 and representing ASU in the calendar!!! : )

Big Ten Calendar’s Victoria
June 6, 2008

Hi, my name is Victoria (call me Tori for short) and I’m currently a junior at Indiana University majoring in Sport Communications. I am from a southwest suburb of one of the greatest cities…Chicago! The tradition, energy and excitement of Chicago sports are part of the reason I want to become a Sports Broadcaster and studying it is a dream come true. Watch out Erin Andrews…
There’s only one of me, but I have a large extended family that I love and adore.
You will find me watching college sports and just try to drag me away from a Chicago Cubs’ game…I’m crazy about them! I enjoy eating, cooking and watching the Food Network. I love my friends, laughing and giggling, staying in shape and dancing. Anything vintage, classic rock, dresses and my dog Rocky are some of my favorites. I am loyal and dedicated. I believe everything you give in life you will get back in return.
Upon becoming a student at Indiana, you learn a few things very quickly…quality of education, the beauty and fun of Bloomington, great people, wonderful opportunities and of course…the Tempe12 Calendar! I had heard and seen the classiness and sophistication of the calendar and was encouraged to apply for it my junior year. I submitted a few photos, was called to send a few more, and then was completely caught off guard when I received the phone call congratulating me on winning the Miss IU spot for the calendar! I’m elated, thrilled, excited and know it will be an extraordinary and unforgettable experience! As a member of a sorority, I enjoy the philanthropy and involvement that goes along with living in a house, so I want everyone to realize that Tempe12 is also involved with a major philanthropy which raises money for the Boys and Girls Club. Needless to say, I am honored and looking forward to the travel, meeting an amazing group of girls, working with a renowned photographer and being a part of the Big 10 Calendar! Can’t wait!
Big Ten Calendar’s Rachel
June 6, 2008

I first heard of Tempe12 when I got a message from David on Facebook. He had gotten my name from a mutual friend and asked if I would be interested in applying to model for the calendar. Before I said anything, David calmed my nerves immediately by stating, “don’t worry I know what has come to your mind, cheesy, trashy, etc.” He reassured my feelings of hesitation by telling me that their photographers were the top in the world and sending me several different links to articles written about Tempe12.
I applied thinking what do I have to lose? A week after I applied, I received a phone call from David giving me more details about the calendar and personally answering all of my questions. The following week, spring-term classes at Michigan had begun and I was not looking forward to my four- hour lab twice a week. Much to my surprise walking into lab, I received a call from David. As I picked up the phone he said two words to me—“you’re in.” At that moment I could not even fathom what all of that meant as he explained how I would be flown out for the photo shoot toward the end of the month. Needless to say, four hour lab went by very quickly as I mentally arranged a list of my friends and family I could not wait to call to share the good news with.
About Me:
My name is Rachel and I am a sophomore at the University of Michigan. I am majoring in Brain, Behavior, & Cognitive Science. Last summer my friends and I hosted a 80s car wash for charity. This entailed me wearing a bright red, high-waisted, two-piece lifeguard bikini, aviator sunglasses, and of course zinc on my nose. The car wash was ‘simply irresistible.’ In addition, I have spent the past twelve summers attending a summer camp in Canada as both a camper and waterski instructor. I have worked with kids’ ages six to sixteen teaching them how to ski, barefoot, wakeboard, and kneeboard. This summer I am traveling to Israel to volunteer for the Red Cross
Big Ten Calendar’s Katie from Wisconsin
June 4, 2008

Hi my name is Katie and I’m about to begin my senior year at UW Madison, where I am majoring in Psychology. I’m from New York, but I love Wisconsin and think it’s the greatest school on earth. Madison is such an amazing college town and I have treasured every minute so far. When I’m not busy with school, I like going out and enjoying the amazing nightlife. I think the best perk of going to such a big school is all the interesting people I get to meet. My friends would describe me as goofy, fun loving, and hopefully funny and sweet :). When I finish college I plan on going into real estate development.
When David called me and offered me this amazing opportunity, I gave him the names of a million girls that I thought would be better than me. After a lot of convincing, I mustered up the courage to do the calendar and am soo excited with my decision. Shooting at the Palms in Vegas is going to be surreal. The other girls look so beautiful and cool and I can’t wait to meet them. I’m also excited that one of my closest friends Andrea is flying out and representing Wisconsin with me. I love my school and I am so proud to represent the Badgers in this calendar. I know this is going to be the experience of a lifetime.
Big Ten Calendar’s Julie
June 4, 2008

I am a Sophomore at Penn State University and I love it more than anything. I love football, especially the Nittany Lions. I also absolutely love dancing and having a fun time with my girls. I love summertime, the beach, and being tan. I absolutely adore puppies, especially my dog Zoe. I am very nice outgoing girl and usually get along with most people. I don’t have time for drama and people associated with it. I try not to let the mean things people do bother me because people are always going to talk down on you no matter what. I would say I am a very good friend because I am always there for my friends whenever they need me. I hate negative people because they always ruin your mood and bring you down with them. I am a very laid-back person because I don’t let a lot of things bother me. Life is too short to sweat the small things.
I really am so excited to be in the calendar because I have never done this before. I can’t wait to shoot in Vegas and meet all the girls! It’s going to be an amazing experience especially since this is my first time modeling. I am a definitely a little bit nervous. Some of the other girls have modeling experience and I don’t but there is a first time for everything. I am ready for the challenge and I would never pass an opportunity to shoot in Vegas with an amazing photographer such as David Rams. Of course I can’t wait to meet the infamous David Freedman who made this all possible for me. What could be better than modeling in the Palms Hotel in Vegas?! Vegas is absolutely beautiful and a perfect atmosphere for a photo shoot. I can’t wait to meet the other talented and beautiful girls from the other schools.
Meet the Big Ten Calendar’s Jen R.
June 4, 2008

Hi! My name is Jen, and I’m enrolled as a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, currently concentrating in Medicine. Go Illini! I plan to attend medical school following graduation and become an obstetrician, mainly to implement my love and passion for children. Comprised of six different nationalities, I have an extremely diverse ethnic heritage- Italian, Spanish, German, Irish, Norwegian, and Swedish. Any thoughts about the speculation of where my love for travel stems? Visiting Europe is on the top of my to-do list, and I cannot go anywhere without my eyelash curler. Although, I’m from the big, windy city of Chicago, I am a wholesome country girl at heart. Premium leather cowboy boots accessorize each outfit I own; and a full slab of BBQ baby back ribs is my favorite dish. Dare to challenge me? My family is the main priority of my life, and my girlfriends are my true soul mates. I have a white Samoyan dog named Colby that understands Italian commands, an overprotective older brother, and a Chicago police officer that wins an award for the best daddy in the universe. Laughing is secretly the best calorie burner- in fact, my laughter is the most obnoxious uproar of noise ever known to the human race; it slightly resembles a dying coyote, but imperfection is beauty! I own more shoes than ten women combined could possibly possess in a lifetime, which I must revamp each season. Fortune cookies offer the best advice, yet second to my mother. Baseball games at Wrigley Field and ball park hot dogs consume my summers. I will steer clear of the Cubs vs. White Sox debate (we are all aware of which team should have won the World Series in 2005, Go Cubs!) I am a fantastic lover and a firm believer in love at first sight and romance. However, my ideal partner must have a sense of humor and a five o’clock shadow to maintain my attraction; or at least provide me with an unlimited supply of chocolate- it is my weakness! Horseback riding alongside the beach, scuba diving, and jet skiing are just a few of my hobbies. I was a cheerleader for nine years and playing the piano is my hidden talent. I have been mistaken for Eva Mendes’ younger sister; so keep your eyes peeled for my upcoming role in the sequel to Hitch. My advice to any individual is to live life to its absolute fullest, tackling each day at a time with an easy going and carefree attitude; allowing room for the unknown just yields much more possibility in life. CIAO!
Lacking a professional modeling background, I’m extremely nervous to pose for the 2008-2009 Tempe12 swimsuit calendar, yet thrilled to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity. I have no clue as to what I should expect during the shoot, but I know that I am in great hands considering the fabulous production staff of Tempe12 and David Rams, a world class photographer. I definitely know that I have tough competition since he works behind the scenes with Hef’s gorgeous Playboy models! However, I believe it is imperative to be able to communicate with the photographer and create a bond. After all, David is accountable for capturing our best shots! Realizing that my photograph will be spread across the wall of 500,000 college boys next fall, I’m incredibly apprehensive about my overall image. Several of these guys will remember me from Karaoke Night at C.O. Daniels, sprinting to class three minutes prior to the bell in pajamas and a side ponytail, or even collecting donations on the Quad for my sorority’s fundraising project. At the end of the photo shoot, I will transform from an average student at U of I to an object of fantasy. A confident appearance is a must in the photo because even my grandfather is waiting for his signed copy! Meeting all of the girls from around the country that will be shooting with me in Las Vegas is provoking much excitement, as well. We will all be able to learn new, unique characteristics about one another and discover that we may share many of the same interests. Having fun with the other girls on the shoot will just lift more anxiety off of my shoulders and help me to relax during these five days. Lastly, how many pairs of shoes should I bring on the trip??
The Ohio State’s Jen
June 3, 2008

Hey guys! My name is Jen and I am a sophomore at THE Ohio State University! To tell you a little about myself….people might describe me as being a very outgoing, but laid back girl, optimistic, friendly, spontaneous and always looking to have a good time. I enjoy shopping, working out, meeting new people, dressing up, Buckeye football!!, rollerblading, camping and doing all sorts of adventurous things! I’ve been blessed with a wonderful life and friends and I try to live everyday to the fullest. My motto is to have fun and don’t take life too seriously!
I was SOO excited to find out that I was selected to be a Tempe12 calendar girl!! I know it’s going to be an amazing experience traveling and meeting all of the other girls as well as the Tempe12 staff. All of the girls are so gorgeous and I can’t wait to all get together and have a great time shooting with them and making some beautiful photographs
with such a world-class photographer, David Rams. It’s going to be a once in a lifetime experience and I can’t wait to be the girl that represents OSU in the calendar!!
MSU’s Hannah
June 3, 2008

I am currently a Psychology major at MSU, and after I graduate I plan to work in the field of substance abuse and addiction. When I’m not doing school work, I spend time with my family and friends, listen to music, or work on the novel I am currently writing. I love going to concerts and listening to music in the car. I think the louder the music, the better. The best part of living in Michigan is being surrounded by hundreds of lakes. My friends and I spend our summer days and nights mainly on boats. I love watching the sun set and rise, and when the stars in the sky are completely visible. I have the cutest puppy in the world, her name is Nava, she is a Pomeranian and Yorkshire Terrier mix, she is so much work, but totally worth it! I constantly remind myself to have as much fun as possible and not sweat the small stuff, because you’re only young once!
I am so excited to shoot with photographer David Rams and be part of the Tempe 12 calendar. I am very social and outgoing, and it looks like the rest of the girls are as well. I think we’re going to have a great time. I’m so excited to go to the Palms in Vegas, I’ve never stayed there before! I can’t wait to meet all of the girls, each of them representing a different school. I’m looking forward to the shoot and the final result when the calendar debuts.
Meet Iowa’s Hanna
June 2, 2008

I was raised in La Crosse, Wisconsin and now I am a student at University of Iowa, majoring in Communications and Chinese. I am a hard worker, currently working 2 jobs, but I still manage to go out and have crazy times! I am pretty easy to get along with, and love meeting new people. My life has been pretty interesting so far, and can’t wait to see what comes next!
I am super excited to go to Las Vegas for the Tempe12 photo shoot! It will be amazing working with a world class photographer. I am nervous for the shoot and going to Las Vegas because I have never been there, and hope I don’t get too wild, but at the end it will all be worth it. I am excited to meet the other girls that are going to be in the calendar because I know they will all be cool and we will have the best time ever!!!!
Introducing Arline
May 29, 2008

Hi everyone, I’m Arline and I attend the University of Minnesota. I’m a down-to-earth girl and easy to get along with. I’m fun to be around, I’m always cracking jokes and laughing. My favorite show is ONE TREE HILL, I’m literally obsessed with it. I own seasons 1,2,3, and 4 and watch them over and over again. And I love the new season, I cannot get enough. It’s virtually impossible for me to get up before 10 am if I have nowhere to be. The simple things in life make me happy, such as laughter, love, eating, summer, being tan, etc. I first found out about Tempe12 about a year ago. My first thought was, “Wow this is so much hotter than other college calendars I’ve seen.” Looking at the models, I figured it must be extremely hard to get into because they all looked like super models.
This past fall semester I checked out their website again and noticed the ‘model submissions’ tab. I had to fill out a short survey and send in five pictures. So I did it quick before going to class. Over winter break David Freedman called me to say he was interested in having me represent Minnesota and that he would be in touch. After that phone call I was ecstatic! Even though it wasn’t certain that I would actually be in the calendar, just the fact that he was interested in me, thrilled me. I never thought I would even have a chance! Finally he called me again and told me that I was chosen for the calendar!!! I can’t even describe how I felt at that moment, I didn’t even believe it until I got off the phone, and it sunk in. I was like OMG, I’m really going to be in TEMPE12!
I’m so excited for the photo shoot; it’s all I can think about! Wish me luck ![]()
Meet the first 12 from this upcoming year’s Tempe12 Big Ten calendar
May 28, 2008
Say hello to Andrea from Wisconsin!

Hi! My name is Andrea and I’m a senior at UW-Madison majoring in retailing. I’m not really sure exactly what I want to do when I graduate, but I would like to work in the fashion industry and eventually go to graduate school for international business. I’ve lived in Madison most of my life with my parents and my twin sister Jenny. I absolutely love going to school here and feel extremely honored to be one of the girls chosen to represent Madison in this years’ calendar! So a little bit more about me… I love to travel, meet new people and try new things. I’ve studied abroad twice and hope to travel a lot more after I graduate. I take school very seriously but I’m also a bit of a party girl and love going out and getting a little crazy with my friends.
I applied for Tempe12 on a whim after my friend Katie was asked to be in the calendar and told me they were looking for more girls. I never really thought anything would come of it and was completely shocked when David called me and asked me to be in the calendar. I can still hardly believe that I’m actually doing it! It is such an amazing opportunity, and I am thrilled to have the chance to represent the Badgers, especially since I will be doing so with one of my best friends. I can’t wait to get to Vegas and meet the other girls!
Congratulations Anita!
