Why did you want to be a 12?
To be a Tempe 12 is such a wonderful opportunity that is only available to the students at ASU. To be picked from such an enormous student body is humbling. Tempe12 is known throughout many college campus’ across the country and is incredible to be able to represent something on such a large scale. The upcoming experience is priceless and so exciting to be apart of.
What do you want to be when you grow up/ how will being a 12 help?
When I grow up I want to change the world. Definitely a cliche answer but on some level I do hope to better the future of our world. My major is sustainability and it really is an exciting topic. It is inevitable that our world is and needs to become more sustainable. Everyday a new opportunity arises in this degree and I am excited to be apart of it. Tempe12 is an incredible network and can open up so many doors for the future.
Tell us something about you that people wouldn’t expect from just looking at you?
I’m weird. I think Im hilarious. And I am obsessed with all animals.
Favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is Vista Del Sol where my bestie Kristina lives.
What’s your major and how did you decided on that?
Sustainability. I absolutely love my major because it is so relevant to everything in the world. For one of my classes I was told to watch the documentary The 11th Hour. The documentary had such an impact on me I immediately changed my major to sustainability. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Best trip you have ever taken?
The best trip I have ever taken was for my 21st birthday. I went to San Diego for the weekend and stayed right on the water in the Gas Lamp District. I rode a mechanical bull for my first time which was by far my most embarrassing moment. The trip was so relaxing and perfect for a weekend getaway.
How have things changed since you’ve become a 12?
Since Ive become a 12 I have realized that i am representing a lot more than just myself. All 12 girls that are in it this year are amazing and beautiful girls and I am so proud to be in this together. Anything I do reflects on them and the brand so I have definitely been more aware of this. This is a great learning experience to have during college because after we graduate it will be just as important to be aware an create a positive image for yourself.
Favorite college memory?
Although I am not finished with college yet I would say the best memory I have so far was when I lived in Adelphi. I loved constantly being around my friends. There was always something new going on. I would definitely recommend living on campus for at least a year. Living somewhere where you are constantly surrounded by friends is so much fun and the only time you get the opportunity is in college.
What do you look for in a guy?
I’m extremely particular with the guys I date. The most important thing to me is how a guy treats me. I tend to date guys who are a little bit older and understand the true meaning of being a gentlemen. Chivalry is the most attractive thing to me. Maturity and ambition is also a must. I have a lot of respect for myself so I expect the guy to be respectable as well.
Tell us about your best and worst date?
The best date I have been on was when I invited a guy I had just met over to my sorority dorms. I was in the middle of decorating cupcakes and sorority letters when he came over. He was extremely sweet and helped me with all my girly duties for the day, even going to a craft store with me. I enjoyed this date so much because it showed that it didn’t matter what we were doing, he just was curious to get to know me. It was nice to do something other than a traditional date with a guy who was genuinely interested in me.
The worst dating experience I have had was when I went up north for a day date to go snowboarding. It was only my third time snowboarding. Although I am not quite a pro, I absolutely love it. After a long day on the mountain we decided to go for our last run of the day but wanted it to be worth it. He convinced me to try the hardest slope on the mountain; a triple black diamond. I was extremely scared but he promised he’d walk me through it and help me out. Since he was so patient with me throughout the day I trusted him and agreed to try it. On the ski lift up the mountain we got into a tiny little disagreement. By the time we reached the top he wasn’t speaking to me and jumped off the ski lift, completely taking off. I was literally left on top on this mountain by myself. I was so upset and so scared by the time I finally reached the bottom I refused to speak to him. We drove three hours home without one word to each other. To say the least, that relationship went downhill quickly, pun intended.
Why did you decided on asu?
When I first went to college my freshman year I wanted to move as far away as possible so I went to the University of Connecticut (UCONN). I am so happy I was able to experience life on the east coast and made many great friends who I still talk to. Unfortunately the east coast winters did not agree with my thin blood so I came back to Arizona to unite with my love, the Sun. After realizing the grass wasn’t greener on the east coast I became a Sun Devil.
Tell us about where you grew up
I grew up in Ahwatukee Arizona since I was ten. It is such a wonderful ‘bubble’ to grow up in. I grew up in a small golf community in The Foothills with my family and our 4 dogs. I love being close to home so I can still attend family dinners and take my dogs for a hike up south mountain at any time.
Whats one item you can’t live without and why?
An oversized fluffy blanket. I love being comfy anywhere I go and having a big blanket with me makes everything better. I am definitely a big cuddler;)
